PTEN UK & Ireland appoint a new Charity Manager

PTENUKI are excited to announce the appointment of Kelly Kearley as the new Charity Manager. The charity was originally set up in 2017 by a group of parents and individuals personally affected by a PTEN gene change, with the intention of helping to support each other and other families within this small community. PTEN is a rare condition, however since the launch of the charity we have seen our community grow and we are honoured to be connected to over 250 families now within the UK and Ireland, as well as our wider international community.

The function of the charity has grown substantially since 2017; starting off as a way to simply connect and support each other, to becoming a ‘go to’ place for those newly diagnosed as well as those struggling to receive the support they need, both medically and within an educational setting. The Trustees of PTENUKI felt this was the ideal time to grow the charity so we can dedicate more time to creating useful resources, communicating with the medical professionals in our field and ultimately supporting the individuals and families affected by this rare condition.

As an organisation we felt that Kelly was the perfect candidate for the role to help us take the charity to the next level. Many of our community will already know Kelly as one of the original Trustees of the charity. Kelly’s career background in corporate events and accounting, as well as running her own successful business, means that Kelly has all of the necessary skills required to help us move the charity forward.  Kelly also has a personal connection to the effects of PTEN, and it is this combination of skills and passion for the cause that will ensure we can help our community to the best of our ability.

We have lots of exciting projects lined up for the year ahead, but we would love to hear from you to find out how we can better support you and your family on your PTEN journey. Please feel free to contact Kelly on info@ptenuki.org. We look forward to hearing from you, and are excited about the year ahead!
